Who We Are
The Foundation for Research and Development (FoRD-GHANA) is a grassroots development oriented community based Non – Governmental Organization (NGO). It is not – for – profit making organization. It was established in 2008 and registered with the Registered General Department on October, 2016 and the Department of Social Welfare with the registration numbers CG057762016 and D.S.W/9071 respectively. The aim of its establishment was to facilitate development at the grassroots level among community groups and structures. The organization uses community participatory assessment with the communities to initiate their own selfdevelopmental programs for improved livelihood and wellbeing of the community members to ensure sustainable development and poverty reduction in the Northern parts of Ghana. It also exists to establish an effective collaboration with the state and non – state agencies especially the decentralized departments at the national, regional and Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assembles (MMDAs) to address issues of illiteracy, disease, food insecurity, child abuse, conflict, domestic violence and youth unemployment within our operation areas.
